Josef Salvat - Hustler

Having set the blogosphere alight with debut single ‘This Life’, budding pop virtuoso Josef Salvat reveals new single ‘Hustler’, which premiered on FADER yesterday, and is set for release on June 10th via Sticky Lips Music.

Slipping seamlessly onto the music scene in January, the Australian singer has made an everlasting footprint in the pop world with the crooning slow-mo likes of ‘This Life’, earning the young pop stalwart accolades from The Guardian, Planet Notion and This Is Fake DIY who hailed Salvat “One of pop’s freshest, most dynamic talents”.

Now, Salvat takes another step with follow-up single ‘Hustler’. Opening with an emotive and haunting piano intro, Salvat’s goosebump-inducing lyrics lead into a powerful and emotional chorus. “You will call me a harlot, you will call me a whore … See I’m a man now, I’m worth so much more. I’ve got the heart of a hustler … the body of a lover with a masochist’s brain”. The song treads through territory relatively untouched in the pop cannon and its distinct lyrical twist casts Salvat as one of the most exciting and unique pop-voices to emerge this year.

Josef Salvat made his live debut supporting Willy Moon in Brighton last month followed by his first London show at The Waiting Rooms and is set to return next week with a London show with Vice at Old Blue Last. More dates are set to be announced shortly including appearances at next month’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
