A Short Story About A Band

The above film follows the band Pata De Gallo. Being completely honest, you probably will have never heard of this band but that is completely irrelevant. The reason I am writing a piece on this band is not because Alfie, the lead singer, is a friend of mine but more because of what this thirty minute film stands for. I started this blog for one reason, to share things I liked, be that music, film, art or fashion. Without trying to be preachy or clichéd there is no questioning that art in any form can engage people and more often than not unite people. What this film epitomises is the ability music has to unite a group of people and allow them to feel part of something. Having spoken to Alfie at length about his trip to Mexico before he left his main aim was to improve his Spanish, like any student studying a language would, but he has returned with so much more than the ability to speak Spanish. This film encapsulates the essence of the joy of music, the coming together of a few people to create something they are proud of. Regardless of outside opinion Pato de Gallo has brought out a common passion in this group of people and this film illustrates their creative endeavours, touches on their hopes for the future and portrays the simple honest pleasure of making music. The future for the band is one that will unfold in time but for now I urge you to watch a short story about a band called Pato de Gallo.
